Mariah Carey's Due Date Revealed

Nick Cannon has announced when his wife Mariah Carey will give birth to their twins.

The singer sent gossip sites into a frenzy at the weekend, when she was hospitalized with contractions - causing speculation her baby boy and girl were on their way earlier than planned.

The star is now back at home having been given the all-clear.

Nick told the Los Angeles Times that Mariah's official due date is May 14 and that she's "super ready" to give birth.

He says: "They're calling it a scare, but really, it was just nerve-racking. We were in the hospital from 4 a.m. until I don't even know.

"The thing with twins is that you want them in their natural incubator as long as possible. They might be ready to come out, but we need them to stay in for a while."

Mariah Carey Decorates Her Baby Bump

Mariah Carey can't wait to pop out her twins – but she also really seems to be enjoying her pregnancy.

Just one day after Tweeting a post – with a happy face – about contractions that sent her briefly to the hospital on her birthday, the singer, 42, posted a photo of a huge butterfly painted on her baby bump with the words "dem babies" written above the image.

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon's 'Festive' Baby Shower

Mariah Carey fetes her soon-to-arrive twins — and Life & Style was the only magazine invited!

As Nick lovingly documented every move his glowing wife Mariah Carey made on a handheld camera on March 6, it was clear he'll always be Mariah's baby. But he's about to get some welcome competition: The A-list couple had gathered an intimate group at LA's luxe Montage Beverly Hills hotel to celebrate the arrival of their twins, due in late April or early May.

"I'd never been to a baby shower," Mariah tells Life & Style. "This was my first one — it was so festive!"

Festive is a serious understatement. As Life & Style previously reported, Mariah and Nick are expecting a boy and a girl. So of course the shower was awash in fab pink and blue hues — from the balloons and flowers to the servers' aprons.

Nearly lost in the sea of sweet pastels? Celeb friends — including American Idol judge Randy Jackson and host Pierce Morgan — who filled the 6-foot-long gift table with tiny outfits and books from the registry arranged by GaGa Designs, before noshing on a selection of gourmet pizzas and appetizers.

While pals Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne couldn't make the adults-only affair, they left a lasting impression with their present: an almost-life-size stuffed giraffe!

"Nick and I were so grateful to everyone who came to celebrate with us," Mariah tells Life & Style. "There was a lot of love in the room, and to top it off, fans from more than 50 countries sent well-wishes in a book they made for our twins titled Always Be My Babies. It was a night I will never forget."

Neither will the dad-to-be. "To see my beautiful wife in all her glory...," a touched Nick mused in his toast. "I don't know what it's like to carry twins, but I know what it's like to witness someone carrying twins."

Clearly, it's breathtaking.

ALL THE ADORABLE DETAILS
Room with a view. Guests took in the gorgeous LA skyline from the Conservatory Grill atop the Montage hotel. All the while, Mariah held court from a glam chaise lounge!

Napkins as favors. Emblazoned with carriages and the special occasion's date, Mariah's napkins coordinated with tiny strollers that adorned the fete's pink and blue bouquets.

Tasty, colorful treats. When not sucking on Sugar Factory's Hello Kitty lollipop favors, close family and friends had their choice of banana, dark chocolate or red velvet cupcakes.

Divine drinks. While Mariah's champagne brand, Angel, co-sponsored the shindig, "I sipped a 'pregnatini,' a special non-alcoholic cocktail," the singer tells Life & Style.

Mariah Thanks Fans for Baby Shower Book

Thank you SO much to all who came to the baby shower last night and all who couldn't be there but sent such beautiful presents and sweet messages!

Still haven't really opened all the gifts but seeing so many people who came from all over the world to be there with us was the BEST gift we could ask for!

The "Always Be My Babies" 'Lamb Book' is definitely my new prized possession and I can't thank the Lambs around the world enough for your letters & well wishes.

FYI-we so had a "moment" in the middle of the shower when they presented the book to me and everyone thought it was the cutest, most thoughtful thing ever! Clearly, only the Lambs would swing something like that home!!! It was the best moment of the night. I can't wait for the twins to read the messages and feel the love!!! : )

Again, thank you so much to our friends and family for making it an unforgettable experience

Love ya much always!!!

xoxo

Mariah Carey & Nick Cannon Celebrate at Blue-and-Pink Baby Shower

The Conservatory Grill at the Montage Hotel in Beverly Hills was transformed into a blue-and-pink wonderland Sunday, as Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon celebrated the upcoming arrival of their twins with an elegant baby shower.

The parents-to-be arrived at 7 p.m., with Cannon, 30, behind the wheel of a black Rolls-Royce that he gave Carey, 41, as a Christmas gift. They were joined by friends including American Idol judge Randy Jackson.

The adults-only shower had a warm and romantic atmosphere with small cocktail tables that were decorated with pink roses and blue hydrangeas. (They are expecting a boy and a girl.) Pink and blue balloons also dotted the private event.

"Mariah has been anxiously awaiting her shower, and she was very excited when she arrived at the hotel," says a source. "She couldn't wait to celebrate her baby twins with her friends."

Carey and Cannon received many pink-and-blue-wrapped presents and several lavish gifts, including two almost life-size stuffed giraffes and two chairs hand-made for the twins.

Guests nibbled on gourmet appetizers and sipped Angel champagne.

"Mariah had the best time at her shower," says the source. "She was very touched by how nicely everything turned out and excited about all the generous gifts she received. She has been feeling a bit tired and worn out lately, but the shower was an event that she really enjoyed and that made her very happy. Now she can't wait to meet her baby twins!"
