"This is baby Monroe saying "no pictures dahhhhling" at 7+1/2 weeks," Tweeted the singer, 42. "Oh dear."

Carey and her husband Nick Cannon, 30, welcomed Monroe and her twin brother Moroccan on April 30.

"This whole journey has been eye opening, she'll tell you that," Cannon has said of new mom Mariah. "It's just the beginning."

Nick Cannon Sends Mariah Carey's Puppies to the Doghouse

New mom Mariah Carey has been busy nesting with her nearly 8-week-old twins, son Moroccan and daughter Monroe, but she'll have to wait to spend time with the other twins – the furry ones – she welcomed right before 'Roc and 'Roe arrived.

It turns out that Jill E. Beans and Squeaky, the two dogs born to Carey's Jack Russell terrier Cha Cha in February, have joined their mother, along with Jack Russells Dolomite, Jay Jay and Jackie Lambchops, in the doghouse.

"I put the dogs outside!" Cannon told PEOPLE in New York on Tuesday. "My wife still has a soft spot for the dogs – I think they should go outside."

In fact, the babies haven't met Carey's beloved pups at all.

"[The dogs] don't even know that there are babies around yet," Cannon said. "I built this really big doghouse outside, like their own house, so they don't have to come inside my house."

It's understandable that Cannon would be so protective. The twins are just learning to smile and even showing a little personality – and the new dad wants to treasure every moment.

"Right now it's just a bonding time," he said. "Just holding them skin-to-skin. I can't wait for the activities, but right now, it's just really the nurturing process."

Mariah Wants 'Tasteful' Twin Photos

Mariah Carey’s twins are nearly seven weeks old, and you know what that means: time to set off a bidding war between the celeb magazines for the rights to the babies’ photos.

According to the New York Post’s Page Six, People and OK! magazine are among the contenders for the first photographs of little Monroe and Moroccan Scott and are willing to pay nearly $200,000 US for the images. However, Carey and husband Nick Cannon are reportedly most concerned with how classy the photos will be. (Yes, this is from the same couple that posed naked on the cover of Life & Style during Carey’s pregnancy.)

"Mariah and Nick are more concerned with doing the right thing than going to the highest bidder," a friend of the couple’s told Page Six. "They're talking to a number of publications about doing it in the best and most tasteful way. Nick has said on radio he doesn't feel entirely comfortable selling pictures of his children. But the first picture remains very valuable to the paparazzi."

According to insiders, Carey had initially hoped to make at least seven figures for the first photos of her offspring, who were born April 30. However, she soon discovered that tabloid editors are no longer willing to pay the big bucks for celebrity baby pictures, such as the reported $14 million US paid to Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie for twins Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline in 2008. (Brangelina allegedly gave all the money to charity.)

"There's not much movement going on right now," said a source. "Everyone wants [photos of Carey’s children], and everyone is putting in offers. But times and budgets have changed from the Brangie baby years."

A rep for Carey insisted that the singers’ decision won’t be based on monetary compensation but rather what is best for her children.

"She is still deciding when and if she's going to [do the pictures]," the rep said. "She is enjoying being a mom, and there's no rush. It's not about the money."

Nick Cannon: Motherhood Is 'Eye-Opening' for Mariah

For Nick Cannon, the birth of his two children was incredible. It may have been even more symbolic for his wife, Mariah Carey.

"She really knows what being a woman is about now," Cannon, 30, told PEOPLE recently before deejaying at Las Vegas's Chateau Nightclub. "This whole journey has been eye opening, she'll tell you that."

Since son Moroccan and daughter Monroe arrived on April 30, Cannon saw his priorities change immediately, as did his decisions.

"It's just the beginning, so I'm expecting it to change a little more," he said, adding that he is "growing every day and knowing that I have to be an example for two lives.”

One thing that won’t change: his stand-up comedy, though the content will see an adjustment.

"It's going to be all about the kids," he said. "I'll be conscious of what I do, but I still gotta be a little edgy.”

Mariah Carey Remixes Her Sweet New Scents

Mariah Carey found sweet success with her last fragrance, Lollipop Bling, which was inspired by hubby Nick Cannon’s delicious wedding proposal. And now, the new mama is sating her sweet tooth again with another addition to her Elizabeth Arden fragrance franchise. Called Lollipop Splash the Remix, the trio of new scents shows off Carey’s fun-loving personality and features hand-picked ingredients that express the singer’s playful side. There’s Inseparable, which contains notes of raspberry, mango, jasmine and orange flowers; Never Forget You, which has wafts of gourmet jelly beans and golden peony; and Vision of Love, inspired by French macaroon and purple jasmine. (All are named for Carey songs.) “We strive to create fragrances that give people the ability to connect with Mariah on a more personal level, just as they do with her music,” perfumer Marypierre Julien said in a statement. “To create Mariah Carey’s Lollipop Splash the Remix, we worked with Mariah and used her music as an inspiration to craft scents that are like floral melodies.” The fragrances, each topped with Carey’s signature butterfly and priced at $35 each, will hit department stores in July.
