Press Preview: Mariah Carey by OPI

Hey, Nicki Minaj, guess what? Mariah's collaborated with OPI now, too, for her own collection of nail polish - and it's pretty cool. The eight-shade Mariah Carey by OPI lineup launches in January 2013, a year after the Nicki Minaj OPI set of polishes debuted. The breakdown includes a frosty shade, a creamy shade, a shimmer, a glitter-flakes polish, and four colours with a nifty "Liquid Sand" finish.

"It's textured nail polish," OPI executive VP and artistic director Suzi Weiss-Fischmann told a room full of Canadian beauty editors and bloggers this afternoon at the Trump Hotel in Toronto.

"You don't have to do anything to it, you don't have to add anything... this is actually how it comes out of the bottle. You don't put a top coat on it because the matte look is what actually makes it unique [sic]," she said.

"It does take a little bit longer to dry, probably about eight minutes or so, and then you see how the texture comes to the surface." The four OPI Liquid Sand shades are The Impossible (a sparkly matte fuchsia - sorry, looks more red here), Can’t Let Go (sparkly matte purple), Get Your Number (sparkly matte blue) and Stay the Night (matte black with red sparkles).

The Mariah Carey by OPI collection ($10.95 per polish) will be in salons and spas in January.

What do you think? Can you wait until January? What shade catches your attention most?

Clockwise from left: A Butterfly Moment, Anti-Bleak, Can't Let Go, Get Your Number, The Impossible, Pink Yet Lavender, Sprung, Stay The Night.

Nicki Minaj & Keith Urban Officially Join American Idol

It's official! Mariah Carey will be in good company at the American Idol judges' table.

In addition to familiar face Randy Jackson, Carey will be joined by Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban on the panel when the singing competition's 12th season debuts in January, Fox announced Sunday.

"It's really an honor to have been invited to be a part of the American Idol family," Urban, 44, says. "I'm looking forward to working with everyone and to seeing the same passion that I have for music in all of the participants."

Minaj, 29, whose addition to the show was buzzed-about last month, teased her Twitter followers earlier in the weekend with a vague promise for "info tmrw…"
Host Ryan Seacrest later confirmed the news with a sweet snapshot of the Idol cast and crew. "It's official," he wrote Sunday.

The announcement ties up yet another Idol casting shakeup that saw the departure of Jennifer Lopez and rocker Steven Tyler after two seasons.

Freshly minted judge Carey, who will reportedly rake in about $18 million for the season, Tweeted in July, "I'm excited to help find and nurture new talent."

Aspiring superstars will meet the four-person panel when auditions begin Sunday in New York City.

Mariah Carey Is Launching a Nail Polish Line with OPI!

Mariah Carey has nailed herself her second major deal this summer: a nail polish collaboration with OPI!
On Friday, the fan-favorite nail lacquer brand announced the Grammy-winning singer and mom of two, 42, as its latest celebrity partner.
"OPI is thrilled to work with Mariah, an industry icon who loves nails and considers lacquer one of her favorite accessories," Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director, says in a release. "With her magnetic personality both on and off the stage, Mariah serves as a great inspiration for beautiful, bold colors."

Carey's limited-edition line, which follows in the footsteps of previous celebrity collaborators including Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj and Serena Williams, is set to launch in January 2013 -- just in time for New Year's makeovers
.

The OPI deal is just one of two parts of the "Triumphant" songstress' biggest comeback since giving birth to twins Moroccan and Monroe, 15 months, in April 2011. Last month, she signed onto American Idol -- a gig that sources tell Us Weekly will earn her an impressive $18 million.

Carey is just the first step to rebuilding the judges panel, which was left empty when last season's Idol trio Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson announced they were leaving in July. (Jackson will stay on in a behind-the-scenes role.)

Mariah Carey’s Lazy Summer Days with Twins

Dem babies are in demand! Per the request of her fans, Mariah Carey shared two new photos of her twins, Moroccan and Monroe, 15 months.
Relaxation is key for the singer in both shots — the singer is snuggled in bed “takin’ a little nap” with her son in the first shot, and enjoying a “lazy day” by the pool with her daughter in the second.

She won’t be kicking back for long though — Carey, 43, is the newest judge on American Idol, premiering this fall. ”It’s gonna be so much fun,”  she said recently. “As a singer-songwriter, I’m excited to help find and nurture new talent.”
Carey is reportedly being paid $18 million for the season.

Press Release: Mariah Carey's New Single "Triumphant"

--FOLLOWS UP ANNOUNCEMENT THAT SHE WILL JOIN JUDGES PANEL OF FOX's AMERICAN IDOL FOR 2013 SEASON --"TRIUMPHANT (GET 'EM)" IS FIRST ADVANCE SINGLE FROM UPCOMING NEW STUDIO ALBUM, DETAILS TO BE ANNOUNCED LATER THIS YEAR

NEW YORK, Aug. 2, 2012 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Just days after the earth-shaking announcement that she will join the judges' panel of FOX's American Idol when the series returns in 2013, multi-platinum global superstar Mariah Carey announces the release of her first new single in more than two years, as "Triumphant (Get 'Em)" featuring [fellow Island Def Jam artist] Rick Ross and Meek Mill goes to radio Thursday, August 2nd, and goes up for sale at iTunes next Tuesday, August 7th.

As tweeted from @MariahCarey: "I wrote TRIUMPHANT when I was going through a difficult time & it helped me get through it. When u hear it, pay attention 2 the lyrics #WIN." "Triumphant (Get 'Em)" is the first advance single from five-time Grammy Award®-winner Mariah's 14th studio album, whose release will be announced in the months ahead.

Mariah, who boasts an unparalleled music catalog with #1 hits in multiple formats on the Billboard charts, will follow the original version of "Triumphant" with a set of exclusive, re-sung dance remixes produced by some of the hottest names in the dance world. Mariah, who continues a long-time tradition of re-inventing her songs in the format, said: "I've always had so much fun re-singing my songs for the club/dance mixes. It gives me the freedom to sing as powerfully as I want and to rewrite the songs specifically for the genre." Mariah has 15 #1 hits on Billboard's Dance Music/Club Play chart, including "Dreamlover," "Fantasy" and "Obsessed."

Her upcoming new album follows up Mariah's worldwide multi-million-selling Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel (released September 2009), her multi-platinum E=MC² (2008), and worldwide 10 million selling The Emancipation Of Mimi (2005).

The Emancipation Of Mimi generated three Grammy awards (including Best Contemporary R&B Album), two #1 singles, and countless more honors during its 18-month chart stay. Soundscan's biggest-selling album of 2005, Mimi featured "We Belong Together" (Grammy winner for Best Female R&B Vocal and Best R&B Song) and "Don't Forget About Us," Mariah's 16th and 17th #1 career singles respectively. They tied one of the most enduring chart records in Billboard Hot 100 history, Elvis Presley's 17 #1's.

Three years later, Mariah surpassed Elvis when "Touch My Body" (from E=MC²) became her 18th #1 Hot 100 hit. "Touch My Body" spent two weeks at the top, Mariah's 78th and 79th cumulative career weeks at #1, which tied Elvis' long-standing all-time high of 79 weeks at #1, as calculated by Billboard. Mariah is now positioned as the only active recording artist in the 50 years of the Hot 100 (which began in 1958) with the potential to surpass the Beatles' all-time high of 20 #1 hits. The success of E=MC² brought total sales of Mariah's albums, singles and videos to more than 200 million worldwide, distancing her even further from the pack as the top-selling female recording artist in history.

With a distinct five-octave vocal range, prolific songwriting and producing talent, Mariah has defined the modern pop performance. As a singer/songwriter/producer, she has been honored with five Grammy Awards®, nine American Music Awards, Billboard's Artist of the Decade Award, the World Music Award for World's Best Selling Female Artist of the Millennium, and BMI's Icon Award, to name a few.

She has two consecutive and unparalleled Billboard Song of the Decade titles: "One Sweet Day" (with Boyz II Men, 1995); and "We Belong Together" (2005), further marking her massive presence on the charts since her 1990 song debut "Vision of Love." Mariah's original holiday classic, "All I Want For Christmas is You," redefined its place in pop culture as one of the greatest holiday hits of all time when it reached #1 on the Billboard charts in 2011, 17 years after its debut. Mariah's influential and stellar contribution to music spans multiple genres and is showcased through her multifaceted hit catalog and a long list of diverse collaborations.

Mariah's ongoing impact transcends the music industry and has left an indelible imprint upon the world at large. In 2009, she made a substantial mark in film with her critically acclaimed role as a social worker in Precious, based on the novel Push by Sapphire. A Congressional Award recipient, Mariah has generously donated time and energy to a range of domestic and international philanthropic causes near to her heart, including the Fresh Air Fund/Camp Mariah (a retreat where inner-city children explore career development), Save the Music Foundation, and Make-a-Wish Foundation, among several others.

Monroe and Moroccan Turn One – In Paris!

Nick Cannon certainly didn’t disappoint when he told PEOPLE that he and wife Mariah Carey were planning “something special” for the first birthday of their twins Moroccan and Monroe.
Taking their little ones on a getaway to Paris, several close friends accompanied them to the Plaza Athénée on Sunday, where Cannon — in typical festive fashion — made sure a good time was had by all.
The momentous occasion was complete with custom-made French pastries, lots of balloons, toys and confetti.

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon Renew Wedding Vows in Paris

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon Renew Wedding Vows in Paris | Mariah Carey, Nick Cannon
Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon
They do – again!

Almost four years after their surprise wedding in the Bahamas, Nick Cannon got down on one knee before Mariah Carey in a reported vow renewal ceremony Friday night in Paris.

With the Eiffel Tower as a backdrop, Carey is seen in photos beaming in a stunning white mermaid dress with spaghetti straps and a black bow at the waist as Cannon, in a white suit and black tie, locks his eyes with hers.

The couple have much to celebrate beyond their four-year anniversary, which falls on Monday. Along with enjoying nearly 1-year-old twins, Cannon appears to be on the mend from frightening health problems, including kidney disease.

After leaving the hospital in January, Cannon called Carey his "hero" and "the virtuous person who is my angel." Carey returned the compliment by telling him he was her "incredible husband" who, despite his struggles, was still "all strong and healthy and big."

The couple arrived in France by private jet around 1 a.m. Friday. During the day, Carey was spotted shopping at Baby Dior – the couple's twins turn 1 on Monday – and at the Louis Vuitton flagship store on the Champs-Elysees.

Friday night, after they posed for their wedding renewal photos, the couple were spotted dining Le Jules Verne restaurant on the Eiffel Tower.

Mariah Carey: How I Got My Body Back After Baby

Showing off her tight midriff, Mariah Carey reveals that getting back into shape after giving birth to twins has meant more than going to the gym.

"I realize that 90 percent of losing weight is my diet," Carey, 43, who promotes the Jenny Craig plan, says in the May issue of Shape magazine.

"Today my workout routine is more about getting and staying toned," she says. "And for me, that means either taking hour-long walks a few times a week or jumping in the pool three or four days a week to do 45 minutes of aquatic exercises."

As for her husband Nick Cannon's health scare – he was hospitalized for a lupus-like autoimmune disease and kidney failure – Carey says, "It was really frightening, but he's feeling much stronger."

"He's taking better care of himself, eating a diet low in sodium and sugar, and getting more sleep," she says.

Nick Cannon: We’re Doing Something ‘Special’ For Twins’ Birthday

My, how time flies.

It seems like just yesterday that Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon were rejoicing over the arrival of #dembabies — and now, with twins Moroccan Scott and Monroe‘s first birthday just over a week away, the power couple is celebrating once again.
“It’s amazing. It goes by so fast.” Cannon, 31, told reporters at NBCUniversal‘s Press Day Wednesday at the Langham Hotel in Pasadena, Calif.
Cannon is staying mum on specific details surrounding the momentous occasion on April 30, but he does promise that the day will be one to remember.

“We’re going away,” he tells PEOPLE. “We’re taking a break. It’s going to be exciting. We’re doing something special and something unique.”
In only a year’s time, Cannon and Carey, 43, have already witnessed many milestones associated with their children. “They’re trying to walk and I’m nervous because they’re at that age when anything can happen,” the America’s Got Talent host explains.
“My son has this thing where he loves banging his head and crushing stuff. Something new is happening every day.”

And Cannon has something else to celebrate — having his health back! — following his January hospitalization and diagnosis of a Lupus-like autoimmune disease.
“I feel better than I’ve ever been. I’m in the best shape that I’ve ever been in,” he says. “Since this whole thing has happened, I haven’t had any salt, red meat, fast food. [I've only had] chicken and fish. I feel so great. I’m juicing a lot.”

Nick Cannon Says He Has Lupus-Like Autoimmune Disease

Nick Cannon is opening up about his ongoing health problems that came to light after he was hospitalized for kidney failure in January and then hospitalized again, weeks later, with blood clots in his lungs.

"The blood clot thing was probably the scariest because ... I've known people who have passed away from that," he told PEOPLE at New York's Teqa Restaurant and Tequila Bar, where he was deejaying an event Wednesday night.

"I thought I was getting better," said Cannon, 31, "and then that happened, so that kind of came out of nowhere."

Cannon, who stepped down from his New York-based radio show in February to continue his recovery, said doctors have told him his kidney condition is "something I'm going to be living with all my life."

"I'm just trying to make sure I put my health first," he told PEOPLE, adding that he tries to get six hours of sleep a night and has been taking it easy at home.

He also revealed that the kidney disease was a result of an "autoimmune disease that [doctors] found in my system," and his blood clots were directly connected to his kidney infection.

"It's a lot of stuff," said Cannon, "but it's all in order now."

When asked by PEOPLE if his condition was hereditary, Cannon said, "They kind of say [my] autoimmune [disease] is – like a lupus type of thing, but no one else in my family has it."

For now, Cannon is just focusing on getting better – as well as on his young family with wife Mariah Carey.

"I feel blessed to be alive," Cannon said. "If it wasn't discovered, I don't know [what would have happened]."

Mariah Attends Whitney Houston Funeral

Today, the life of Whitney Houston was celebrated at her funeral service at the New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, New Jersey. Clive Davis, Kevin Costner, and Tyler Perry were among those paying tribute to the late superstar. The service included performances by Stevie Wonder, R. Kelly and Alicia Keys.

CNN reports that Mariah was in attendance, but does not indicate that Nick Cannon was with her. Last night, Nick told Access Hollywood: "We're definitely trying to figure out the scheduling right now, because I have to be here, working. But you know, we were friends so we'll definitely be there in some capacity, whether it's me and my wife, or my wife. We'll definitely be there to support the family and you know, give the best memorial we could possibly give."

Nick also told E! that Houston's death was tough on Mariah: "It was tough for many reasons," he said. "One, knowing how close my wife and Whitney were, and I was in the hospital during the time, and that's where we got the news. I was kinda in a life-threatening situation and then to see that, it was kind of bizarre and sad at the same time, but you know, it's part of life and it makes you step back and reflect and appreciate every day for what it is."

Jenny is supporting the American Heart Association's mission to improve the cardiovascular health of all Americans by 20 percent by 2020.

Therefore, in collaboration with the American Heart Association, Jenny's My Heart. My Life. "I'm so honored to be a part of this. It's more than just about losing weight--it's about raising consciousness. I was very surprised to learn that every 34 seconds someone has a heart attack, but it doesn't have to be this way. By living just a little healthier, you can make a difference," said Carey.

Nick Cannon Quits Radio Show over Health Concerns

Health issues have caused Nick Cannon to step down from his New York City radio show Rollin' with Nick Cannon on 92.3 NOW, he has announced.

"Under doctor's orders, I have been asked to put my health first and cut back on some of my professional commitments in order to allow my body to get the rest that it needs to keep up with the demands of my multi-tasking schedule," Cannon, 31, said in a statement Friday.

"Even Superman has to sleep."

Earlier this week, Cannon revealed on his show that he was hospitalized over the weekend for two blood clots found in his lungs. Doctors also discovered that a ventricle in his heart was enlarged, according to The Washington Post.

Cannon – who with wife Mariah Carey is father to 9-month-old twins Moroccan and Monroe – has had a series of recent health problems. In January, he was hospitalized for kidney failure.

After he was released and back at work, Cannon said, "I did have some major issues with my kidneys, along with some other stuff. But really I had just overworked my body. The doctors had to reboot my entire immune system, and I'm working through that now."

Cannon says he'll continue with his syndicated radio show, Cannon's Countdown.

Nick Cannon Praises 'Hero' Mariah Carey After His Health Ordeal

Just over a week after being hospitalized for "mild kidney failure,” Nick Cannon stepped out for the first time with wife Mariah Carey – and praised her for being his "hero" during the ordeal.

"When times are hard, you guys don't see her at 3 o'clock in the morning, getting up in the middle of the night, fixing me soup when my kidneys ain't acting right. Mariah Carey does that,” Cannon, 31, said onstage before presenting his wife with the Entertainer Award at the 2012 BET Honors taping, held Saturday in Washington, D.C. The show will air Feb. 13 at 9 p.m.

Holding 8-month-old son Moroccan – dressed in a matching mini tux – Cannon gushed over Carey and at times appeared emotional as he reflected on the woman he calls "my angel."

"It is truly, truly a blessing to be here tonight, and I am humbled and in awe of everyone's presence, but mostly my hero right there," he said as Carey, 42, looked on from the front row.

"What most people don't get the opportunity to experience is the true woman; the virtuous person who is my angel."

A teary-eyed Carey soon returned the adoration, thanking God for having her husband and baby by her side.

"To my incredible husband who [has been] out of the hospital two days – look at him all strong and healthy and big and too buff for the tux – it's incredible," she beamed.

On the mend, Cannon even did an impromptu performance: beatboxing for his son.

"This is what makes Roc the most happy," said Carey, dressed in a form-fitting black and nude-colored gown. "And Miss Monroe Cannon's backstage, darling. We were both sewn into our dresses, so she couldn't make it out."

"She's a diva like her mama," quipped Cannon.

Nick Cannon Released from Hospital

Nick Cannon is well on the road to recovery, having been released from hospital after suffering "mild kidney failure" last week.

"He plans to return to his live morning radio show broadcast Rollin' with Nick Cannon on 92.3 NOW FM on January 17th."

Cannon's wife, Mariah Carey, had been giving updates about her husband's condition throughout the week, saying he was in a lot of pain but that his spirits were high.

Carey asked fans to pray for husband, then later thanked them for their outpouring of good wishes – while posting several photos of herself at Cannon's bedside.

Mariah Carey Hopes Nick Cannon Will Leave the Hospital in Two Days

Mariah Carey is at husband Nick Cannon's bedside again – but this time she has better news.

"Nick is in stable condition with a good prognosis, hopefully he'll be discharged within 2 days," the singer Tweeted Friday, adding, "As always he's laughing and in good spirits."

Just as she did on Wednesday, when Cannon was hospitalized with what she termed "mild kidney failure", Carey also posted a photo of her cuddling up to Cannon in his hospital bed.

Nick Cannon Hospitalized for 'Kidney Failure'

Nick Cannon has been hospitalized in Aspen, Colo., with what his wife Mariah Carey is calling "mild kidney failure."

"Please pray for Nick as he's fighting to recover from a mild kidney failure. #mybraveman," the singer wrote on Twitter Wednesday, alongside a photo of her helping Cannon take a drink in his hospital bed.

Carey later elaborated in a post on her website: "Last year it was me attached to the machines (after having dembabies) and Nick was there with me through it, and now here we are."

She added: "We're trying to be as festive as possible under the circumstances but please keep Nick in your thoughts because this is very painful. ... I'm not trying to make light out of the situation because it's a serious moment that's very tough on all of us so please keep us and our family in your prayers."

Carey, 41, and Cannon, 31, were previously spotted out and about in Aspen on New Year's Eve. The couple have twins, Moroccan and Monroe, who were born on April 30.
