Today, the life of Whitney Houston was celebrated at her funeral service at the New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, New Jersey. Clive Davis, Kevin Costner, and Tyler Perry were among those paying tribute to the late superstar. The service included performances by Stevie Wonder, R. Kelly and Alicia Keys.
CNN reports that Mariah was in attendance, but does not indicate that Nick Cannon was with her. Last night, Nick told Access Hollywood: "We're definitely trying to figure out the scheduling right now, because I have to be here, working. But you know, we were friends so we'll definitely be there in some capacity, whether it's me and my wife, or my wife. We'll definitely be there to support the family and you know, give the best memorial we could possibly give."
Nick also told E! that Houston's death was tough on Mariah: "It was tough for many reasons," he said. "One, knowing how close my wife and Whitney were, and I was in the hospital during the time, and that's where we got the news. I was kinda in a life-threatening situation and then to see that, it was kind of bizarre and sad at the same time, but you know, it's part of life and it makes you step back and reflect and appreciate every day for what it is."
