Next month, BET will hold its fifth annual Honors show in Washington, D.C. The event, held at the Warner Theatre, will recognize Maya Angelou, Stevie Wonder, Spike Lee, The Tuskegee Airmen, Beverly Kearney, and Mariah Carey for lifetime achievement to African-American culture.
The recipients will be honored respectively in the following categories: Literary Arts, Musical Arts, Media, Service, Education and Entertainer:
The voice, the diva, the pop star whose voice has inspired an army of mini-Mimi's will be honored this year. The Grammy award-winning singer is set to receive the Entertainer award.
The show will take place on January 14, 2012.
